The right placement

Another young person we supported, had a history of placement breakdown, with placements often just lasting a few days or weeks.

Prior to her admittance, we were informed that staff who worked with this young person at previous placements, were “burning out” and resigning from their jobs due to her behaviour.  However, through dedication and persistence from our team, this young person stayed with us for nearly a year.

She attended her CAMHS meetings every week and established a positive working relationship with her CAMHS workers and was told that the young person began to talk about events in her life she has never spoken to them about before.

The relationship with her family also improved to such an extent she visited the family home and on special occasions stay overnight.  Her placing authority very much recognised this placement as a success and this enabled them to make longer term plans around her future.
