Walking Challenge for YoungMinds
Walking for mental health!
Gary and Christian work for NSI.
They have decided during May and June to begin their 58 miles walk along the South West coast path; throughout several intervals stopping at Brean Down, Burnham, Bridgwater Docks, Stuart Marshes. Their halfway point is Kilve, where they will be camping overnight. The 17th June, they will be joined by fellow colleagues and some of the young people at Dunster to complete the last 3 miles together.
The children and young people we look after, often show signs of trauma and mental health issues. Like YoungMinds, we are passionate about helping and encouraging them achieve their full potential.
YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. Driven by their experience, YoungMinds creates change so that children and young people can cope with life’s adversities, find help when needed and succeed in life.
“We decided today that we would make the most of the beautiful sunny spring weather, and get our walk kick- started. What better week to do this than mental health awareness week!
We completed the first interval of our walk setting off at Brean Down and walking 12 miles in 4 hours along the south west coast path reaching Pawlett! We would like to thank everyone who has donated so far!“
